With the freedom a car gives you, you can see much more of your chosen destination and discover that corner you might otherwise have missed. All cars can be pre-booked from Odyssey at the time of booking your holiday, or right up to 7 days before your departure. We have negotiated special low rates from companies that have been operating for years so that we can be sure that your car will be reliable and of good quality.

N.B. Don't forget to take your driving license with you.

Free car hire means that you will not be charged for the hire of the car, nor for any of the items normally included in our car hire prices, but any item or service not included in our car hire prices will be payable locally. (One free car per booking)

Please note that car hire delivery times are only in the evening between 17:00 and 18:00. It has to be delivered in the evening and returned in he evening only. Unless guests are collecting at the airport, then the car will be ready for the flight arrival time.

Depending on the location of your accommodation, you may be collected and taken to the Car Hire office in your resort, instead of the car being taken to your accommodation. Cars are normally returned to the resort office by 16pm or to the airport

Delivery and collection charges.
This offer is available on the basis of one FREE car per room or apartment for the entire duration of your holiday, however you can pre-book for the number of days you require (minimum 3 consecutive days).

This offer does not include: Collision Damage Waiver which is compulsory (costs approx £8.00 + VAT currently at 15% per day) and must be paid on collection of the car together with petrol and, if required, baby seat, roof rack (plus any fines).

CONDITIONS: Driver must be 25yrs or over with a valid driving licence held for at least one year. Drivers under 25yrs require at least a 3-year licence. Free car and rates quoted only apply on car hire reservations pre-booked and pre-paid in the U.K. prior to date of travel.
*PAI is only included if you have taken our Olympic Holidays travel Insurance.

Car Hire Rates DO NOT Include:

• Collision damage waiver (CDW) - this is compulsory in Greece and Cyprus and costs approx EURO 8.00 (about £5.75) except group C, D, D1 & E which costs EURO 11.00 (about £7.90) per day in Greece payable on delivery of your car.
  In Cyprus the cost for Odyssey car hire is about CYP £6.50 per day (approx. £8.00). For Hertz car hire the cost is about CYP £6.50 per day (approx. £8.00).
  
• Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) if you have not taken out Odyssey Travel Insurance click here This is optional and costs on average EURO 2.50 (about £2.00) per day in Greece and CYP 1.50 (approx £1.80) per day in Cyprus.
  
• Petrol - your car will be delivered with a full tank. In Greece you must return your car with a full tank or you will be charged. In Cyprus you will be asked to pay for your petrol on delivery, but this means you do not have to worry about returning the car with a full tank.
  
• Night delivery/collection (between 21:00 and 07:00) which costs EURO 7 (approx £5.00) in Greece. For National Car Rental bookings in Greece the cost is EURO 13.00 (approx £10.00). There is no delivery/collection charge in Cyprus.
  
• Any fines incurred during your use of the car.
  
• Additional drivers insurance are available - optional payable locally at approximate cost CYP 2.00 (about £2.50) for Cyprus and Euro 2.00 (about £1.50) for Greece.
  
• Tyres, windscreen, and oil pump insurance are not covered by CDW but can be insured locally upon request at approximately daily rate of CYP 1.50 - This is valid for Cyprus only.
  
• Theft insurance is optional and payable locally at aproximately EURO 3.00 (about £2.50) daily - This is valid for Greece only.
  
• Full Damage Waiver (FDW) that covers you fully against each accident is charged at aprox. EURO 6.90 daily (approximately £5.00) - This is valid for Greece only.
  
• Roof Racks and child seats in Greece & Cyprus on request, payable locally, an approximate cost in Cyprus of CYP1.00 daily (approx £1.25) and in Greece EURO 3.00 daily (approx £2.50).
  
• Any local taxes and VAT on items above.
  

NB: Child seats will comply with local laws but may not conform to British standards.

The rates above apply only to cars pre-booked in the UK. Different rates may apply to cars hired in resort.

Conditions on Car Hire :

Cyprus: Drivers must have held a full licence for at least 3 years or be aged at least 25 years.

Greece: On all islands the minimum age of drivers is 21 years, but Corfu and Zante for cars in groups D and E this increases to 25 years. This is also applicable for all National Car Rental bookings in Greece. On Crete and Rhodes, in addition, a full licence must have been held for at least 12 months.

IMPORTANT NOTE

Please check carefully the details of the insurance provided under your contract with the Car Hire company in resort. It is not unusual for "third party" cover to exclude cover for blood relatives and members of your immediate family or members of the same home address who travel with you in the vehicle. Top up policies will normally be available to purchase directly from the Car Hire Company in resort. For peace of mind, we strongly recommend that you take out additional cover in respect of your spouse and any children or close relatives who will be accompanying you in the vehicle.

Collision Damage Waiver / Loss Damage Waiver:
These sections of our insurance policy cover you for damage sustained in an accident unless you deliberately cause the damage, are under the influence of drink or drugs, or use the vehicle in a prohibited way (e.g. for hire).
In addition if you commit a driving offence or drive negligently, or the local suppliers of the car decide that you are at fault, you may not receive a replacement vehicle.

Theft Waiver :
Reduces the renter's liability in the event of theft or damages caused due to theft or attempted theft of the vehicle to an excess amount where applicable.

Negligence connected with the theft of the vehicle may lead to the car hire company requiring the full amount for the cost of vehicle.

Provision of Cars:
Car suppliers can refuse a vehicle to anyone considered unfit or ineligible to drive. In these circumstances we will not be responsible for the completion of your travel arrangements, for any refund, compensation or any other costs you may have to pay.

We are brokers for the car hire companies. Clients are subject to the car hire company`s own terms and conditions and the laws of the country where the rental takes place. Odyssey Worldwide accepts no responsibility for loss, damage, alterations, delays or changes caused by civil strife, industrial dispute, including air traffic control disputes, terrorist activity, natural and nuclear disaster, fire or adverse weather conditions unavoidable technical problems with transport, closure or congestion of airports or ports, cancellation of scheduled airlines or the financial failure of airlines.
